Kolber's first job was in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She won an award for a local Sports Emmy during her tenure at WTVJ-TV situated in Miami. She also worked for WPLG-TV in Miami as well as WPEC-TV in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her role was chosen as anchor on ESPN2 in 1993 after the channel launched for the first time.
